With deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Anne Humphreys

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a much loved lady from our church family at Mossley Methodist, Anne Humphreys. Peacefully, at Antrim Hospital, on Mothering Sunday Morning. Leaving Denis her Husband, daughter Evelyn, son Geoff and daughter-in-law Tanya.

The Family and congregation at Mossley Methodist all know that Anne loved to sing. That she had a beautiful voice and would take the opportunity to rise above that of everyone, lifting the melody and harmonies to the heights of the roof and on into the heavenlys. Indeed on the opening day of the church building, Anne, along with the ladies of the church sang descant to ‘The Servant King’. Something Anne continued to do for many years as a congregational member, comfortable to hide within the ‘security of numbers’. Only once did she let down her guard to nerves, when at the Sing-a-long-a-Sound-of-Music night, Anne stood alone treating everyone to a rendition of ‘Climb Every Mountain’.

Anne loved her church family at Mossley, particularly the ladies of the MWI. Renowned for their laughter, christian fellowship and good old fashioned fun. Everyone of them, without a doubt, Anne could call friend.

Rarely Anne missed a Sunday Morning Service, and it wasn’t until recent years through illness that she was kept from attending. However it was Mossley where she met her Saviour and believed strongly in the promises of Heaven. Therefore, with all things made new, the heavenly choir is sure to have gained a new member.

2 Corinthians 4

1Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
