New Appointment

We are pleased to announce that Elaine Gowdy has been appointed our new Youth Leader. Two weeks on and doing a wonderful job.

The congregation at Mossley would like to thank Simon for his work with the children and young people connected to the church, primarily through starting REFUGE Youth Club and Junior Youth Fellowship. It’s a great encouragement to us that both he and Elaine can continue together nurturing established relationships with the young people and their families.

Please pray for Elaine in her new role together with Simon, that the Lord will bless their family and the work that they do with our youth and children in Mossley.

Drumalis House, the gift of quiet refocus

I came across these photos on my camera of the day our church spent at the end of October at Drumalis House in Larne.

Alan our minister, lead us and shared in the benefits of centering prayer. Which we all agreed was a necessity to promote the health of our faith within the busy lives and challenges we face.

Now two weeks on,  I wonder how we are getting on with this lifestyle change? Or are we finding that the pressures and distractions life throws at us is disallowing time in Gods presence?

324th GB Company … farewell

Sunday morning service was dedicated to saying farewell to our Girls Brigade 324th Company at Mossley Methodist.

It was lovely to see past girls turn out to join with us in thanking Acting Captain Stephany Neilands and her officers, Lynn Clarke, Carol Swan and Catherine Johnson for their commitment and hard work over recent years.

Afterwards there was a chance to walk down memory lane as past Officer Janine Lowry produced a scrapbook full of old GB snaps.

The leaders and congregation here at Mossley Methodist would like to thank everyone who dedicated their time as captains, officers, helpers and every girl who attended over the years. You added laughter, friendship, team spirit and colour to our halls. Sadly will be missed.

Harvest Celebrations at Mossley

Sunday morning worship treated our congregation at Mossley to beautiful displays thoughout the sanctuary staging Harvest scenes of thanksgiving with each of the church organisations being  represented.

Elaine Gowdy with the help of the Junior Youth Fellowship, led our Harvest Celebrations on Sunday. Bringing us scripture readings and poems, the JYF finally treated us to a praise song.

Thank you to everyone who filled their crates with tins and dry goods in support of Store House. After light refreshments there was a retiring offering in aid of hurricane relief in Haiti.

Well done Elaine for leading worship, and to all the creatives who planned and put together the stunning displays. It really was a treat for everyone.
