Palm Sunday Service.

a farewell & a sending – 10:30am

This Palm Sunday, as we continue our journey through Lent, we welcome you to what will be Rev Peter Murray’s final Sunday morning service with us at Mossley …although we are glad to say he will be with us once more for our Maundy Thursday evening service at 7:30pm.

Over these past three months, Peter has walked alongside this congregation, and in that walking, something beautiful has unfolded: a lightness, a warmth, a quiet sense of God’s presence that has reached beyond these walls. As a church, both leadership and congregation want to say, from the heart: thank you, Peter.

As we gather this Sunday to offer our gratitude and our farewells, we also pause to recognise something deeper. The light Peter carried into this place was never his to keep. It was given; and shared among us. The God who sent him for this season is the same God who remains when the season changes.

So come along this Palm Sunday to celebrate Jesus, who journeys with us in humility and love. And also come to say thank you, come to say goodbye — but come also ready to ask a quieter question: what will I do with what has been lit in me?

The encounter doesn’t have to end. That’s the invitation.
