It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and sister in Christ, Debra Fox (née Reynolds).
Having Debra as part of our church family has been a true joy. Her warmth and fun shone through in her big smile and the twinkle in her eye. Loyal, trusting, empathetic, and encouraging — these are just some of the words that come to mind when we think of her. Debra’s Christian journey was open, honest, and inclusive — a breath of fresh air, just as her presence was whenever she walked into a room.
As a church family, we united in prayer for Debra during her treatment in 2023, and rejoiced with her at the “all clear” and the ringing of the cancer bell. We were overjoyed to share in her happiness when Colin proposed and they began their life together as husband and wife.
Her sudden passing is heartbreaking. The words we can find to express how much Debra was loved, and how deeply we will miss her, will always fall short of the grief her family are now carrying.
On behalf of the leadership, and all the church family and friends of Mossley Methodist, we extend our deepest love, sympathy, and prayers to her husband Colin, her parents Mervyn and Dorothy, and to all who knew and loved her. May you know the nearness of God’s comfort in the days ahead.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
